During the next two semesters I will not only be working toward getting into the Elementary Education program while also juggling the planning of my wedding across three states. Working to get into the Education Program will be no easy feat and I often find myself worrying about whether or not I will make it into the program for next fall. On top of all of the school stresses I also find myself attempting to contact my bridesmaids who go to school as far away as Pittsburgh. This makes the stress of school seem all the greater because of the time constraints on both the schoolwork and the wedding contracts. Learning to teach the next generation is not only about what to teach them out of a book but also what to teach the children from real life. What would be a good lesson for young students to learn that can not necessarily be learned from a textbook? I know that the standard answer for this question for those under the age for kindergarten would be learning to share, but for older students the lesson that teachers use often become redundant. Students can learn little nuances from the adults in their lives but would a teacher offer that much influence in the life of younger students? Or would the little nuances just become a part of the student's personality because of the repetition of the said nuances on a daily basis. What are the changes potential teachers can make to the nuances they possess to minimize their impact on their impressionable students?

I strongly believe that the future of teaching does rely on the style in which a teacher teaches his or her students...I believe that it should be encouraged to reject a banking style of education, but to embrace problem posing education, in which the students are not only taught, but the teacher is taught and embraced by the students as well.

I can understand how overwhelmed you must feel. School alone is hard but planning something like a wedding on top of it seems impossible. Teaching depends on the style the teachers goes with. I think that both the teachers and studnets learn together. Something like this should be encouraged.

WOW! that is intense, and exciting. What are the colors for your wedding? I love weddings. Are you a bridezilla? Anyways, as far as young children go, a teacher has ALOT of influence over them. I, apparentally say something that my second grade teacher always said at the parent meetings. I don't know. However, I really do think that teachers have a strong influence on all their students, young or old. Even the way a teacher moves around or makes genstures will be reflected in the students. I had one parent that told me that her child likes to take deep breathes when they are stressed out. That is because I told him that is what I do when I get upset. The little things you don't think will make a difference, do.

the colors are Dark Blue, Emerald Green, and Light Yellow. No I \'m not a Bridzilla but I am at the point where I am ready to pull my hair out with all the things I need to get done soon. Yeah I understand about the little kids mimicking the movements of their teachers and other adults. My nephew will mimic anything I say while I am home for the short times I am able to be home. I am trying to find a style of teaching that will adapt to the type of school I want to teach in.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I feel so overwhelmed being that it is i have so much school work and no time to get everything done! I can't imagince planning a wedding right now. I remember in highschool we had to plan a "fake" wedding with a partner in the class and that took about 3 months to finish and that wasn't even a real wedding! Anyways, i also believe that not only do the students learn from the teachers, but they teachers learn something new every day from the students and thats what makes their job so rewarding and enjoyable.

You're juggling a number of things at once. I know how you feel in relation to getting into the education program, i felt the exact same way when i was working my way into getting into the business school. As far as the stresses of the semester is concerned you should try and plan ahead so as to create work of the highest quality and be able to deal with everything at once. I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors.
